Adhack presents at DemoCampVancouver04
James Sherrett, CEO of Adhack, presented his do-it-yourself advertising agency at DemoCamp04 Vancouver today at Workspace. He said that as we now live in a participatory culture driven by reputation, the old model of advertising is broken and ineffective. Adhack (currently in private alpha) sells ads created by others to businesses, as well as acting as an inventory for ads and a community for ad creators. He also cited the new iPod Touch ad from Apple, which was created by a British 18-year-old on his own time and later used by Apple itself, as an example of how this new advertising culture works.

Thanks for the mention of our presentation, Warren. Great summary and examples.
And the photo…well, I suppose I have to remember sometimes that I’m not such a pretty man. Oh well, my ads might still rock!
